Points West Finishing was started in 1984 and is owned and operated by Franz Pap, an Austrian born craftsman with over 39 years experience in the construction industry. He quickly became known for innovative finishing carpentry and designing and building stylish mantles. In 1992 we started installing interior stair railings in new homes. Later on we took on specializing in renovating and rebuilding existing staircases. Around 2001 we started designing and manufacturing our own custom wooden stair posts. We also do custom rails , curved or straight, complemented by either metal or wood spindles or glass panels.

All of our work is custom built to your specifications to match your taste and decor.

For stair renovation projects we are able to replicate curves and parts are pre-joined to rails where possible and stained for a clean professional install of your stair railing with minimal interruption to our customers. We are located in Port Coquitlam in the Tri-cities area of Vancouver and we design, build and install stairs and railings mostly in Vancouver and surrounding areas. For special projects we have traveled to install stairs and railings in remote parts of BC (Mica Heli-skiing Lodge), Montreal, California and even as far off as Fukuoka, Japan.
